In Vivo Studies

A comprehensive offer

Our researchers involved in animal studies have completed training qualifications. All animals used in research are kept in University-inspected and approved housing sites (UTE, Experimental Therapeutic Unit). All authorizations to conduct experiments on animals are up-to-date and have been obtained from the competent authority.

To get as close as possible to human pharmacology, ATLANGRAM employ for all animals studies, a computer-assisted molecule administration's method. Thanks to this method, we manage to get stackable results to those obtained on humans : by this ways, our animals models are human-like models and enable us to give advices to our clients in terms of pace and route of administration, and adequate doses to improve the PK / PD parameters of the tested molecules.


ATLANGRAM has developed and uses modeling software to simulate human PK/PD on animals.


In Vivo Parameters

  • Determination of PK/PD parameters [Cmax, Tmax, half-life, area under the curve (AUC),%T>MIC etc.]
  • Tissue distribution (plasma, fluids, lung, spleen, liver, kidneys)
  • Survival and CFU endpoints
  • IV, SC, IP or PO dosing
  • Pro and Anti-inflammatory cytokines quantification (ELISA)
  • Detection of the emergence of resistant variants during therapy
  • Determination of the appropriate frequency and/or dose administration
  • Drug alone or in combination
  • ED50 determination (sepsis/peritonitis model)
  • Surrogate markers of lung damage (myeloperoxydase activity, endothelial permeability)
  • Computer-controlled simulation allowing to mimic the human pharmacokinetic of the drug in rabbits
  • Comparison of strains and/or comparators


ATLANGRAM conducts studies with carriers of antibiotics such as nanoparticles or biomaterials, and we are able to determine the ex vivo activity of antibiotics in complex media type fibrin clots.
